Emblem Health, Atlanta’s WXIA News Anchor DeMarco Morgan, Macy’s, GCaribbean Magazine & Hennessy will come together for 4th annual HAITI CHERIE: Pride, Love & Commitment Fundraiser

New York, NY- February 14th 2014- On Friday February 28th 2014, while we celebrate the last day of Black History Month, about 400 attendees will attend the 4th annual Haiti Cherie Fundraising event. Haiti Cherie, in it’s 4th year, is the brain child of philanthropist, Producer, VP of Business Development & Marketing of GCaribbean Magazine Fabrice J. Armand, to raise funds for charities rebuilding his native Haiti.  Armand says “Haiti is a country that touches your heart in a special way".

In light of the devastation following the earthquake, Armand felt compelled to act in order to help Haiti. More specifically, he felt that it was just not enough to donate individually.  He wanted to create a movement that would remind people about the significance of Haiti’s history, raise awareness about the country’s beauty & help the organizations that are making a sustainable impact within the country. “Although we raise money at event, Haiti Cherie represents a lot more. It is about giving the Haitian community a voice to narrate their story.”   The event honors the accomplishments of Haitian professionals who have excelled in their fields and serve as an inspiration through their hard work and dedication.  Haiti Cherie has evolved into a powerful celebration of Haitian pride, culture and accomplishment.

Atlanta’s WXIA News Anchor DeMarco Morgan will once again serve as master of ceremonies.”I have never met anyone that is more dedicated to Haiti than Fabrice.  I am happy to help support him and the people of Haiti” Honorees for the evening will include Ambassador Paul Altidor (Haiti’s Ambassador to the US), Actor Jimmy Jean-Louis (NBC Heroes, Toussaint Louverture), Dr. Jean Orelien (Founder and CEO of Scimetrika) and Katleen Felix, (Chair of the Haitian Hometown Associations Resource Group).  Celebrity invited guests include, Designer Carly,Cushnie,  Gbenga akinnagbe, Tamara Tunie, Harry Belafonte, Donna Karan, Tameron Hall, Mayor DeBlasio  etc
